PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Understanding the forces acting on a yarn during unwinding is key to evaluating package performance. The laboratory device PPT 100 records these forces with accuracy, displaying real-time data both graphically and numerically via the integrated software. Each package is summarised by a unique Package Performance Factor, making it easy to compare unwinding quality across packages. Together with the specially designed yarn take-off unit, PPT 100 ensures controlled, reproducible conditions, delivering defined speeds for dependable results across all filament yarn types.

TEST METHOD

The POY yarn is unwinded from the bobbin at defined and constant speed and guided to a tension sensor. The variations in tension are displayed in real time and stored in the PPT software. The unwinding quality of a bobbin depends on the mean, maximum and minimum value of the measured tension.
