TEST METHOD
A specimen of an absorbent hygiene product is positioned beneath the dosing funnel. At the press of a button, a defined volume of test liquid is released onto the sample at a prescribed flow rate. Using an integrated electrode system, LISTER CARE measures the exact time required for the liquid to pass from the surface into the absorbent core. The ROA value — the acquisition time — is recorded from the moment the liquid contacts the top sheet until the wet sheen is no longer visible on the surface.
BENEFITS
- Reproducible and objective testing
Automated liquid dosing at constant flow rate and precise timing ensure highly consistent and operator-independent ROA results. Standardized measurement conditions guarantee comparability across materials, production lots and manufacturers.
- Flexible configuration for diverse product designs
Adjustable dosing positions, selectable loads for liquid discharge, and customizable volumes and flow rates allos LISTER CARE to adapt to a wide range of absorbent hygiene products, from different core architectures to varying layer structures and material compositions.
- Time-saving operation
After sample placement, testing runs automatically with minimal operator involvement. The instrument delivers clear, immediate results and enables efficient workflows in both development and routine quality control.
- Enhanced product optimization
Reliable feedback on acquisition time supports data-driven decisions in product design, leading to better fluid management, improved user comfort and more efficient use of raw materials.
- Standards compliance
LISTER CARE provides ROA testing fully aligned with EDANA WSP 070.9.R1 recommendations and NAFC guidelines, ensuring industry-standard methodology, seamless auditability and consistent reporting.
