PRODUCT OVERVIEW

CBW 200 is a fully automated testing system for filament yarns, designed to determine both bulk and titer in a single sequence. It is suitable for materials such as air-textured yarn, where bulk is developed during production and supports both laboratory testing and at-line quality control. The instrument features automatic yarn handling, integrated calibration, and a freely programmable control system. Its compact and robust design allows for flexible installation, while the integrated software enables efficient data management and rapid adjustment of testing parameters.

TEST METHOD

Bulk is determined by feeding yarn at a constant rate into a fixed-volume chamber, where the filling time is recorded. Titer is measured using the proven Automatic Cut & Weigh principle. Both tests are executed in one seamless sequence, including automatic yarn string-up and removal. Standardized according to ASTM D6587, the system ensures precise and reproducible results.

BENEFITS

  • Dual-function testing
CBW 200 combines bulk and titer measurement in one automated run, eliminating the need for separate instruments and reducing testing time.
  • Close-to-production monitoring
Positioned near the spinning line, CBW 200 enables immediate feedback on yarn quality, helping prevent waste and optimize production efficiency.
  • User-friendly operation
The integrated software allows quick parameter adjustments, automatic data transfer, and long-term result storage—no specialized training required.
  • Consistent and repeatable results
Automatic calibration and self-adjusting pretensioning ensure high reproducibility across test runs, even with varying yarn types.
  • Optional automation upgrades
Enhance efficiency with features like barcode sample identification, Ethernet IP connectivity, and the SESS automatic bobbin changer for multi-position sampling.
